Corliss is a beloved sister in Christ and a faithful member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church. We entrust her soul to the mercy and love of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is the Resurrection and the Life. Though she has fallen asleep in the Lord, she remains part of our worship and our parish family, spiritually present with us each time we gather before God.
Has its own time and its own season. There is a time for birth and death, planting and reaping, for killing and healing, destroying and building, for crying and laughing, weeping and dancing, for throwing stones, and gathering stones, embracing and parting. There is a time for finding and losing, keeping and giving, for tearing and sewing, listening and speaking. There is also a time for love and hate, for war and peace.
~ Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
Our senses, restored, never to be the same, whisper to us. They existed. They existed. We can be. Be and be better. For they existed.
As we commend the soul of our beloved sister Corliss Catherine Lawrence to God and continue in prayer for her repose, our parish is also seeking to offer practical and charitable support to her family during this time of sorrow.
To assist with final preparations, burial‑related expenses, and other immediate needs, the parish has established The Corliss Lawrence Memorial Fund. This designated fund will also help support her daughters, Mya and Ayisha, in the days ahead.
Those who wish to contribute may do so by making a donation specifically designated to The Corliss Lawrence Memorial Fund. Gifts may be offered by check or through the Saint Nicholas online giving portal, with the fund name clearly indicated.
The parish will administer all contributions in keeping with its charitable and pastoral responsibilities.
Please continue to keep Mya and Ayisha in your prayers, and pray also for the repose of the soul of Corliss, of blessed memory.
With the Saints give rest, O Christ, to the soul of Your servant, where there is no pain, no sorrow, no sighing, but life everlasting.
Memory eternal to the handmaid of God, Corliss.
If you wish to send a note of condolence or offer support to her daughters, please contact the parish office. We will ensure your message is passed along with care and discretion.
