St. Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox Church invites you to support Fr. Miljan Mitic during this difficult time.

Support Fr. Miljan Mitic

A Beloved Priest in Need of Our Prayers and Help

A Message from Fr. Gabriel Souza

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

I would like to introduce you to a dear friend and brother priest, Father Miljan Mitic of the Serbian Orthodox Church. Over the years I have come to know him as a faithful servant of Christ, a devoted priest, and a man of deep and steady faith.

Recently, Fr. Miljan was diagnosed with Stage 5 kidney failure, and he now faces significant medical challenges. Despite this difficult cross, he continues to place his trust entirely in our Lord Jesus Christ and to serve Him with courage and hope.

I ask you first and foremost to remember Fr. Miljan in your prayers, asking God to strengthen him, comfort him, and grant him His mercy. If you are also able to assist him financially, any support you can offer would be deeply appreciated and received with gratitude.

Fr. Gabriel Souza

 With love in Christ,

Fr. Gabriel Souza

About Fr. Miljan Mitic

Fr. Miljan writes:

“Hello my dear brothers and sisters. God bless you all.”

Born in 1994, Fr. Miljan is a young priest of the Serbian Orthodox Church whose life has been shaped by prayer, study, and service. He graduated from the Serbian Orthodox Seminary in Sremski Karlovci and later earned a degree from the Serbian Orthodox Theological Faculty in Belgrade. After serving in the Diocese of Backa, he transferred to the Diocese of Valjevo, where he continues his ministry.

He met Fr. Gabriel Souza through their mutual friend, Bishop Jerome (Shaw), during Fr. Gabriel’s journey into Holy Orthodoxy. Since then, their friendship has remained a blessing.

Throughout his life, Fr. Miljan has embraced many gifts. He has written articles on the Orthodox faith, conducted interviews with clergy, and studied piano, singing, guitar, and accordion. In addition, he earned a Cambridge C2 English Certificate and enjoys corresponding with priests, bishops, and monastics. His interests include theology, history, classical music, and literature — especially The Lord of the Rings.

His Current Need

Recently, Fr. Miljan was diagnosed with Stage 5 kidney failure and has returned to his hometown of Odžaci for treatment and care. His condition requires ongoing medical support, and the financial burden is significant.

Despite this, he writes:

“I put my trust and life in the hands of our Risen Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and His mother, the Virgin Mary.”

Your prayers and generosity can help lighten this burden and support a priest who has given his life to Christ and His Church.
